Foxes Academy takes seriously its responsibility and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young adults and children, and expects all staff to share this.
Foxes Academy is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and it is a requirement of Foxes Academy that all staff apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is essential that this disclosure and other background checks are satisfactory before employment can be confirmed.
These disclosures will be treated confidentially and sensitively. Foxes Academy adheres to the DBS Code of Practice and our policies on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders and the Secure Storage, Handling, Use, Retention of Disclosures and Disclosure Information.
The amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’ and are not subject to disclosure to employers, and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the Disclosure and Barring Service website.
All applicants are required to complete our application form and provide a full employment history. Please note in line with Equal Opportunities, we do not accept CVs as part of the application process. References will be sought from two professionals, both of whom can write with authority about your performances, abilities and competences in a work, voluntary or educational background. If you are not currently working with young people / vulnerable adults but have done so in the past please provide reference details from a past employer for whom you worked in this capacity.
